The bunting is up and flag is flying! Today we’re starting the Jubilee early at Wolf Components and celebrating together with a nice piece of cake to mark this historic event.

Many thanks to our wonderful local bakery Staniforths for providing the delicious bakes.

Congratulations to Her Majesty on reaching this historic milestone from everyone at Wolf Components and we thank you for your 70 years of service and dedication to the United Kingdom and Commonwealth.

As an independent British company, we are proud to be playing our part in growing manufacturing in the UK.

We wish everyone wonderful Jubilee celebrations.

What could be more exciting than spending a day seeing what work is really all about?

Today our Maintenance Engineer, John has been participating in a ‘go to work with your parent’ day initiative organised by his son’s school. This is a fantastic way to show children all the different roles required to run a business and to have a better idea of what to expect when they eventually join the workforce.

We’re delighted to have Sam with us today to learn everything involved in making our products and how the team work together to transform wire into finished pocket springs!

As a professional British manufacturer, Wolf Components is supporting the UN Race to Zero campaign by committing to the SME Climate Hub journey to Net Zero.

By acting together businesses can collectively take action to reduce the carbon footprint of supply chains enhancing sustainability of products for our customers.  As a procurement differentiator our spring products will count towards reducing indirect scope 3 carbon for our customers.

Wolf has been progressing projects to ensure we can achieve the sustainability aspirations contained within these goals including investing in more efficient machinery and processes, EV charging and vehicles, greater load utilisation for logistics, higher compression roll packs, renewable power and LED factory lighting.  Clearly it is only by collective action across supply chains that business will make any difference and we look forward to reporting our progress on further projects in due course.

As an independent family business, we feel supporting our employees is essential to our growth and success.  With wellbeing being more important than ever, we are delighted that our Administration Manager, Gemma Allsopp has successfully completed her Mental Health First Aider qualification.

The MHFA course gives an in-depth understanding of mental health issues and how it can affect wellbeing in the workplace alongside the skills to assist, support and direct employees to the right help and resources.

Congratulations Gemma on your fantastic achievement!

When one of our employees let us know that his daughter’s football team were looking for sponsorship, Wolf Components were delighted to help out.

At last weekend’s match, the Scawthorpe Scorpions Under 10’s were staying warm and looking ready to win in their new rain jackets.

Scawthorpe Scorpions are one of Doncaster’s oldest and biggest Junior Football Clubs, playing in the Sheffield and Hallamshire League. Wolf are privileged to be supporting young people in a community team and to further our links with the local area as we grow.

We wish the team all the best for this season!

We had great fun yesterday drawing our annual Christmas raffle and huge thanks to everyone who donated prizes and gifts.

This year we are proud to support local charity, Hallam FM and Greatest Hits Radio Cash for Kids to help ensure that every child wakes up to a gift on Christmas Day.

As a growing British manufacturer, we are keen to develop the very best people in the industry through employee investment, education opportunities and by offering real long-term careers.

In addition to our in-house training scheme, Wolf Components has now joined with The Skills Network to begin delivering further training and apprenticeships to our employees.

Investing in people and developing their skills is essential for the future and we were delighted to find a provider who could deliver a training solution that fits with modern business and learning requirements.

Wolf Components recognises that our employees are our most valuable asset in being an efficient and reliable independent British manufacturer and we are delighted that from this month we will be partnering with Westfield Health to provide enhanced wellbeing support.

The benefits scheme will recognise service as we look to help all our staff build rewarding long term careers in manufacturing.

Access to better physical and mental health support and advice is increasingly important as we come out of the pandemic and we are pleased to be able to help our employees reduce the costs of healthy lifestyle activities such as gym memberships and everyday purchases through Westfield Rewards.

It’s National Customer Service week in the UK and Wolf Components are further growing our customer service and administration team in Rotherham.

We are delighted to welcome Christina Bailey who joins us as Customer Service Administrator and brings a wealth of experience to help us continue to deliver outstanding customer care.

A huge thanks to the whole team, Louise, Gemma and Christina, for the professional service they provide every single day to all our customers.

The Wolf Components team had a fantastic time attending the Bed Show for the first time this year.

It was wonderful to see the event able to go ahead again after the pandemic and we all enjoyed the opportunity to meet our bedding industry colleagues again.

Many thanks to all our existing and potential customers and suppliers who visited us on the stand.

We look forward to next year!
