We’re proud to announce that our Sales Director, George Joyce is taking on the London Marathon this year in support of The Furniture Makers Company.

George said “This year, I’m running the London Marathon to raise funds for The Furniture Makers Charity, which provides vital support to those in the furniture industry facing hardship. Every donation helps continue their amazing work, supporting individuals and families in need. So please consider donating  – your support means the world!”

The Furniture Makers’ Charity is a UK-based organisation that provides essential support to those in the furniture industry, including workers facing hardship, retirees in need, and young people entering the trade. They are dedicated to promoting craftsmanship, supporting education, and ensuring that the industry thrives for generations to come.

I decided to take on this challenging marathon not only for my own personal growth but also to give back to an incredible charity that does so much for the people behind the furniture we use every day. From providing financial aid to individuals who’ve fallen on hard times to helping apprentices take their first steps in the industry, the Furniture Makers’ Charity plays a pivotal role in supporting the workers who have built the UK’s furniture sector.

Your donations will directly contribute to:

Financial assistance for workers facing hardship

Scholarships and apprenticeships for future furniture makers

Support for retired industry workers in need of help

Promoting high standards and innovation within the furniture industry

This season, Wolf Components are thrilled to support the North Gawber Colliery Under-9s Girls team by sponsoring their rain jackets!

These talented young players represent the future of football, competing in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women’s League against teams like Sheffield United. The Under-9 Girls team is part of the North Gawber Colliery Football Club, which boasts 22 teams across men’s and women’s divisions, all based in Barnsley.

A special shoutout to the dedicated coaches, including our very own Antony Brown, Shift Team Leader at Wolf Components, and Ryan Hill, both of whom bring passion and expertise to the pitch. The team plays their home games at Mapplewell Park, and we can’t wait to see them thrive this season!

At Wolf Components, we believe in fostering community spirit and empowering the next generation. Best of luck to the team, and here’s to an exciting season ahead!

We are pleased to share that Wolf Components is a finalist in the National Bed Federation’s Supplier of the Year Award!

This recognition marks an exciting milestone in what has been an incredible year for Wolf, characterised by significant growth, major investments and continuous innovation.

This year has been particularly notable for the launch of our Apex product, a fully recyclable, no compromise pocket spring, which represents our commitment to both high performance and sustainability in a way that sets a new standard for the industry.

The Judges said “Wolf’s delivery of its vision to fill the need for a professional, independent, onshore producer of pocket springs continues apace this year, with the launch of an exciting new, recyclable unit, which ticks all the boxes for eco-design and performance, while it remains committed to continuous investment in cutting edge technology and production capabilities, nurturing its staff and reducing its carbon footprint.”

Congratulations to all our team members!

We are delighted to welcome Angela Obia to the Wolf Components family as our new Maintenance Engineer. Our company ethos has always been recruiting the very best talent and her addition marks a significant step forward in elevating our engineering support.

Angela brings a wealth of expertise to our team, with her impressive background in electrical engineering, automation, industrial control, and safety systems. With a Master’s in Automation and Robotics, coupled with her experience teaching Industrial Automation at Sheffield Hallam University, Angela’s skills are perfectly aligned with our commitment to investing and developing  cutting-edge manufacturing technology.

Angela says, “I’m excited to join the Wolf Components family and look forward to using my electrical and automation experience to contribute to maintenance improvements and developing innovative solutions for efficient manufacturing processes.”

Our Managing Director, Anthony Joyce, echoed this enthusiasm: “This latest expansion of our Maintenance support marks another milestone in the growth of the exceptional Wolf Components team and Angela’s significant knowledge and experience will bring further added value to the business.”

Since founding in 2017, Wolf Components has been dedicated to creating opportunities for our team and showcasing the rewarding careers paths available in manufacturing.

Traditionally, manufacturing has been an industry where employees could grow skills both on the job and through employer supported training and we are proud to continue this tradition by providing these opportunities for our people.

As one of our early employees, Anthony Turner has been a clear example of this success and is now celebrating his sixth year with Wolf.

Anthony Turner discusses todays production with VSS Operator Craig Webb.

Originally trained as a mechanic, Anthony joined Wolf as a CNC machine operator. He quickly mastered pocket spring skills and knowledge, advancing to Team Leader within two short years.

Anthony has continued this trajectory of success and last year took on the Site Management role at our designated VSS manufacturing facility.

Reflecting on his journey, Anthony said ‘I’ve always enjoyed working in manufacturing, since leaving college especially the technical side. There really is a job in manufacturing for everyone, no matter your interests, and Wolf have been really supportive of my career so far’

Managing Director Anthony Joyce added ‘Anthony has done a fantastic job since joining Wolf and has made excellent progress developing our VSS facility. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for him

At Wolf Components we’re proud to support the UK bedding industry as a truly independent British based manufacturer of pocket springs, centrally located in Rotherham.

Amidst increasing global uncertainties and logistical challenges, such as the current Red Sea disruption, UK based operations offer a reliable and resilient solution demonstrated by the UK climbing from 9th to 8th in global manufacturing rankings in 2023.

Customers looking to de-risk and diversify their supply chains to sustainable just in time suppliers have helped Wolf continue to grow to two factories and support stable employment opportunities in the South Yorkshire area along with the associated support services contributing to the local economy.

Wolf Components is not just a manufacturer, we’re a vital part of the 2.6 million strong UK manufacturing workforce, driving economic strength and stability in our region. Together we’re building a brighter future for UK manufacturing.

At Wolf Components we’re passionate about investing in the most efficient and versatile technology. As part of our continuous commitment to sustainability we’ve made a significant upgrade at our dedicated mini spring manufacturing site with the purchase of a fully electric forklift truck from local supplier Endeavour Forklifts.

With zero fumes and emissions it delivers a cleaner manufacturing environment and the reduced noise improves driver comfort and communication in our warehouse. This coupled with enhanced safety features, lower maintenance costs and a longer lifespan made it an obvious choice for the site.

General Manager & Director Rob Shuttleworth said “This is a significant stepping stone on our path to increasing sustainability and investing in the future. This switch aligns perfectly with our net zero commitments including the NBF Pledge for Our Planet whilst also improving our operational efficiency and workplace environment”

Together, we are driving towards a more sustainable future.
